This Privacy Policy explains how Novi ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile application and website.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: sign-in provider (Apple or Google), user identifier, display name, and email address when provided by your sign-in provider.
- Profile and onboarding information: preferences you select during onboarding (goals, interests, role, daily rhythm, and similar settings).
- Messages and conversation content: text messages you send, AI-generated replies, conversation history, and extracted memories.
- Voice data: audio captured during voice conversations and voice transcripts.
- Subscription information: purchase and entitlement status managed through Apple and our subscription provider.
- Usage and diagnostic data: app interactions, crash logs, and performance data used to improve reliability.
2. How we use information
- Provide chat, voice, memory, reminders, and personalization features
- Process subscriptions and restore purchases
- Maintain your account, settings, and conversation history
- Improve app quality, security, and customer support
- Respond to support requests and legal obligations
3. Third-party services and data sharing
Novi uses third-party service providers to operate the app. We share only the data needed to provide each feature. Before you use chat or voice, the app asks for your permission and identifies the providers below.
OpenAI
We send the following to OpenAI to generate AI responses and power voice conversations:
- Text messages you type or speak
- Voice audio and transcripts from voice sessions
- Conversation history and saved memories used as context
- Onboarding and profile preferences used to personalize responses

Google Firebase
We use Google Firebase for authentication, cloud database storage, and file storage. Firebase stores your account identifier, profile, messages, memories, and app settings. Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
RevenueCat and Apple
RevenueCat and Apple process subscription and purchase information. RevenueCat privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In
If you sign in with Apple or Google, those providers process authentication data according to their respective privacy policies.
4. In-app consent (required)
Privacy policy text alone is not sufficient. Before Novi sends your personal data to OpenAI for chat or voice features, the app shows a dedicated in-app consent screen that:
- Names OpenAI as the third-party AI service
- Lists the specific data sent (messages, voice audio, transcripts, memories, and profile context)
- Requires your explicit tap to Allow — share my data with OpenAI before any data is transmitted
- Lets you decline and continue using non-AI parts of the app
You can review or revoke OpenAI sharing anytime in Settings → AI data sharing.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your account in the app Settings. After deletion, we delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, subject to legal requirements and backup retention cycles.
6. Your choices
- Decline AI data sharing (chat and voice features will not be available until you consent)
- Access and update account information in the app
- Delete all memories or delete your entire account from Settings
- Manage subscriptions through Apple

7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We require third-party providers that process personal data on our behalf to maintain appropriate safeguards.
8. Children's privacy
Novi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
